Dr John Cantwell is Professor of International Business at , having arrived from the in He has also been a Visiting Professor at the "La Sapienza" (), the

He is recognized as a pioneer in the field of research on multinational companies and technology creation, beyond merely international technology transfer. He was the President of the European International Business Academy (EIBA) in , and in he was elected as one of four EIBA Founding Fellows. Fellowships recognize outstanding achievements in research and education in the field of international business, and the number of Fellows is restricted to no more than Professor Cantwell is also an Associate Editor of the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, a leading (US-based) academic periodical, and a member of the editorial board of other peer-reviewed journals - including the Journal of International Business Studies, the Journal of International Management, the Journal of Management and Governance, and Management International Review.
