Bishop Ernestine C.
Reems was received into the arms of our Lord on December 28, , following a lengthy physical illness though her spiritual countenance remained intact until the last breath.
On Friday, February 4, , we will host a Celebration of Life for Bishop Reems at the Oakland Paramount Theatre and we invite you to help with the underwriting of this important community event.
Known for her authentically charismatic, fire baptized, and provocative preaching style--uniquely and intensely her own--she mentored many of today’s well-known clergy throughout California and all parts of the United States. Extolled as a Preacher’s Preacher, Bishop Reems was the Founder of EC Reems Community Services and Center of Hope Community Church in Oakland, CA.
Her legacy is voluminous including but not limited to establishing a food feeding ministry, a charter school for grades K – 8, a unit affordable housing complex, a unit residential building for senior housing, and a unit transitional facility for homeless single women with children. Bishop Reems was dedicated to making the Word of God come alive within the community through public service.
Please come celebrate with us – we will have music fill the Theatre, so we may feel the inspiration of “Mom Reems”.
